Muted words let you filter specific words, phrases, hashtags, or emojis from feeds and messages without blocking a person.
What it is
Muted words filter specific words, phrases, hashtags, or emojis from the places you choose. They are useful when you want to avoid a topic without blocking a person.
How to use it
Open Settings -> Safety -> Muted words.
Add a word, phrase, hashtag, or emoji. Keep entries specific enough to avoid hiding unrelated posts.
Choose where the mute applies, such as feeds, messages, or both. Remove entries when you no longer need them.
How matching works
Muted words are case-insensitive. A phrase mute is stricter than a broad topic mute. If a topic keeps appearing under several names, combine a topic preference with one or two phrase-level muted words.
